One more ride thru one of my “gardens”, Magic Mountains.

Again joined me Paulo Faia and its AT and the Starting point was Ferespe.

Before reaching the first planned point of the journey we pass thru the Romanesque bridge of Lagoncinha.

Crossed “Santo Tirso” we reached EN319, the first planned point, and here we went riding on it till a few km ahead of “Baltar” where, at “Parada de Todela”, we start riding thru EN106-3.

It was time to eat “something” and we stop at Tropical café while riding thru EN106.

EN106 lead us till crossing river Douro thru the bridge of “Entre-os-Rios”, where we took for a few km IC5 till reaching the EM502.

While riding thru EM502 we were able to see the beautiful River Paiva in some points.

Our second stop, this time not for eat but to enjoy the spot, was at “Bateira Bridge” while riding already on EN225.

By the way we changed from EM502 into EN225 nearby the locality named “Casal”.

This EN225 is pleasant … but not to ride with my R7. The conditions of the tarmac are, for R7, terrible.

The bike's shuddering, due to the poor conditions of the road, actually makes driving quite unpleasant…but we have to be strong, so I went there anyway.

It was not the first time that I took this EN225 but it was either with my Yamaha ST or with my T7…completely different the feeling.

I must share that I strongly recommend the ride on this road…but for comfortable motorcycles.

Continuing to ride on this EN225 and almost reaching “Bouças” we stop again to enjoy the spot.

Here we were able to see below the River Paiva again and a place called “Gola do salto”.

This is possible to reach this “Gola do salto” when we came from “Falha da Espiunca” and took here “Passadiços do Paiva” … but we must walk, so it is not a thing that I plan to do.

Those braves that already walked thru “Passadiços do Paiva” say that it is incredible… I believe on them.

Getting back to our ride I must say that the day was perfect for riding. Beautiful blue sky, without clouds, sunny and with very good temperature….and of course always joined with amazing landscapes.

Before stop we left behind “Vila Viçosa”, “Carvalhais”, “Vila Chã”, “Poças”, “Granja”, “Fundo de vila Nespereira” and “Pereira”.

Again on the road we moved towards to Ester where we changed into EM558, but before we made another stop.

After passing “Parada de Ester”, a few km ahead, there is a nice waterfall where I took some photos and registered as well the moment in video

It is a nice spot

And this machine is a hell of a machine. More I ride it more I like it.

If the roads are not too rough I can make km over km without complaining.

On the picture above it is possible to see that I changed the position of my rear camera. The images are now much better (video available at https://youtu.be/dleAuhCRx1w) but the noise does not allow me to use the sound of the motorcycle because the red cover vibrates so much that the only thing we heard is “clack, clack, clack”.

When we reach EM558 we entered on another “dimension”. Really.

We crossed “Vilarinho”, crossed River Paiva at Cabaços Bridge, always with the river at our left side that provide us beautiful views and, when we reached the indication to the left for “Grijó-Gafanhão” we started to ride now on EM559. Another beautiful road that ended almost when we are arriving to “S. Pedro do Sul”.

The objective for this day was “Manhouce” and we were almost there but…

While in EM559 we pass thru some nice small villages and beautiful landscapes…”Covelinhas”, “Santo Estevão”, “Ervilhal”, “Amoreira”, “Além do Rio”, “Alvarinho” e “Sacados”.

Although we did not stop at “São Pedro do Sul” I share some data about this town. It is located at Viseu District, in the Dão-Lafões sub-region. This town is surrounded by Castro Daire, Viseu, Vouzela, Oliveira de Frades, Vale de Cambra, Arouca and it is located on the beautiful Magic Mountains.

I share that normally when I stop here, I use to ride thru the historic center and stop to “eat something” at “Pastelaria Flor de Lafões”.

We left “S. Pedro do Sul” and took EN227 till “Santa Cruz de Trapa”. Also we did not stop here but I share that it is a recommendable visit…not only the village itself but the area surrounding it. Nearby we can visit “Convento de S. Cristovão de Lafões”, the ruins of “Solar dos Malafaias”, etc…

But here at “Santa Cruz de Trapa” we took Rua das Hortas Novas and Manhouce is even closer. This road make us pass thru “Landeira” and “Coelheira” and here we turned left to catch EM1231.

Another stop between “Landeira” and “Coelheira” to enjoy the view … it really worth our stop here.

This road is amazing

We were riding on “Serra da Freita” and we pass thru the heart of Vilarinho and Lageal.

But before we pass thru the birth of Rio Teixeira while we were descending thru this beautiful road.

Finally we reached Manhouce.

On the first photo below I share the Romanesque bridge of Manhouce.

Unfortunately it was too late and we decided not to visit the village and “Poço da Silha”, but the roads that we still have to rum were also great: EM612, EM621, EM550-3 and EN227.

As always it was a pleasure for me that Paulo joined me on this ride…hope he enjoyed too.
