One more morning riding thru Magic Mountains, this time joining me my friend João Araújo
It was a good ride that where we were able to constantly lean our bikes so many curves we passed…some going uphill and others in vertiginous descents.
Photo above shows the starting point at Gondomar where we met together for the journey.
A few km ahead of the starting point we enter on EN209-1 followed by EM614, always descendent and full of good curves.
Reached EN108 we were now with Douro River at our left side and nearby the Lever-Crestuma Dam.
Crossed the river our next move was thru EN109-2, but only for a few km because the next road would be EM532 to drive us till the well known EN222. We crossed the bridge over Arda River and just before reaching Oliveira do Arda we turned left to catch EM503, passed Alveda…
It is not the first time that I ride here and again I forgot to plan a visit to “Monte de S. Domingos”. It should be a great spot to have a 360º view…let’s see if the next time I do not forget.
Arrived at Pejão we followed thru EM504, another great road for riding, not because of the landscape but because it is full of curves “for all tastes”.
On EM504 we crossed Arda River juts before reaching the village of Cela do Arda.
Arda river flows towards to river Douro where it ends, but it is a river that win that name after Gondim, Marialva and silvares join together.
Before reaching Douro it runs about 30 km given elevate fertility to the lands where it flows thru
For those who enjoy making bicycle rides or walking there is, between Arouca and the locality of Várzea, a bike and pedestrian lane…not for us I confess and think that I can speak on behalf of João.
After passing Cela do Arda, but continuing riding on EM504, we changed after a few km to CM1200 towards to Coval Quente, Folgosinho, Tropeço and Santa Eulália.
I have to share that for R7 this EM504 is not the most appropriate to ride, however I’m sure that for João and its T7 it was like riding on a sofa!
EN224 was our next road that is always a pleasure to ride it. We can lean our bikes on good tarmac and, at the same time, with nice scenery.
EN244 drove us till Vale de Cambra. After passing it thru the center of the town we took EN328, another amazing road, that we drove on it till the village of Decide. Here, and as planned, we changed in direction of Janardo, Felgueira, Vilarinho de São Luís, enter on EM553 pass Vilarinho de são Roque.
I must share that it was again another good moment, because we had a lot of curves with, here and there, with good landscape.
Our next planned stop at Ribeira De Fráguas Picnic Park. A nice spot where we had spent quite a few minutes and where, whenever I pass here I stop to enjoy the location.
Our riding morning is almost ending but we, before entering on A1, still ride EN16-3 towards to Albergaria a Velha.
