Hello Adventurers!
Because i want to enjoy for years to come the off-road freedom Portugal has to offer, I’ve decided to make this short video. It is about a simple set of rules that i believe will end up saving our beloved sport 😉
How?
Well, the main reason for this rare freedom we enjoy is that many farms, villages and towns deep in the Portuguese countryside still rely on unpaved roads and trails for basic access, which means these roads need to exist and to stay open, in theory!!… Because in fact, we could be 1 law away from having leisure motorized vehicles (like motorcycles, SSVs, Quads, etc) banned from these trails, just like they do in Spain (a country with similar geographical characteristics but much stricter rules when it comes to leisure use of the off road routes).
The only way to postpone (or avoid completely) these unflexible and uuncreative laws is to keep the local population happy, and to show the world that offroad riders are a premium form of tourism, not a bunch of motorized and disrespectful pirates that you want to keep away.
